Yes/No question word ไหม : Măi?

Translation word by word : You + to like + racing car + Formula One + ? + polite particle
English translation : Do you like Formula One racing?
Answer:
To answer the question word ไหม : Măi?, you must start with the main word that the speaker would like to know.
Positive answer:
Long Answer: ผม/ฉัน ชอบ รถแข่ง ฟอร์มูล่าวัน ครับ/ค่ะ
Pŏ’m/Chŭn Chôrb Ró’d~Kàeng For-Muu-lâa~Wun Krúb/Kâ
= I like Formula One racing car.
Short Answer: ชอบ ครับ/ค่ะ

Negative answer:

Vocabulary:
คุณ : Koon = [personal pronoun] you/your/yours (used to address/call a person politely)
ชอบ : Chôrb = [feeling verb] to like, to be fond of, to love (doing something)
รถแข่ง : Ró’d~Kàeng = [compound noun] racing car (รถ : Ró’d = [noun] vehicle, car, cart, แข่ง : Kàeng = [action noun] to compete, to race)
ฟอร์มูล่าวัน : For-Muu-lâa~Wun = [noun] Formula One
The yes/no question ไหม : Măi? is used after a statement to change a statement into a question when you want to know a ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ answer. ไหม : Măi? is equivalent to ‘Do…?, Would…?, Are…?, Is…?, Am…?’ in English. (Learn more in my Speak Thai Course Chapters 1 and 14)
ครับ : Krúb = [formal polite particle used by males when making either a question or a statement]
คะ : Ká = [formal polite particle used by females when making a question]
ค่ะ : Kâ = [formal polite particle used by females when making a statement]

ที่สุด : Têe~Sòod = [comparative modifier] the most
ของ : Kŏrng = [possessive modifier] of, belong to (used between words or clauses to indicate the possession or relation between them)
เลย : Leoi = [amount modifier]
very, really (used after an amount modifier to exaggerate the amount of the modifier to ‘extremely, thoroughly, exceptionally, exceedingly, immensely, monumentally, tremendously, uncommonly, unbelievably, remarkably, eminently, extraordinarily, incredibly, awfully, so, ever so, totally’)
Sentence structure : Subject + Explanation 1 (verb) + Explanation 2 (modifier) + Explanation 3 (amount modifier) + Explanation 4 (amount modifier เลย : Leoi)
เขาทำงานดีมากเลย : Kăo Tum Ngaan Dee Mâak Leoi = He/She does a really good job. / He/She does an outstanding job.
completely; entirely; utterly (used after a verb and usually used in a negative sentence)
For example, เขาไม่พูดเลย : Kăo Mâi Pûud Leoi = He/She doesn’t say (anything) at all. / He/She doesn’t say a thing.
Note:
There are many uses/functions of the word เลย : Leoi (particle, modal, verb) which you will learn more later on.

ฉัน ทอม และเจมส์ พวกเราถึงที่สนามแข่งรถตอนเก้าโมงเช้า เราได้เดินเล่นรอบๆ สนาม มีร้านสินค้ายี่ห้อรถแข่งขายมากมาย ตั๋วของเราเป็นประเภทเข้าชมธรรมดา ไม่สามารถนั่งดูรถแข่งที่แท่นนั่ง เราจึงเดินหาจุดดีๆ เพื่อนั่งดูฟอร์มูล่าวัน และเราได้จุดที่ดีมาก สามารถเห็นรถแข่งวิ่งมาอย่างรวดเร็วและเข้าทางโค้งสองโค้ง

I like sports, both watching and doing it. Last week, I had an opportunity to watch Formula One race at Silverstone race track.
James, Tom and I, we arrived at nine o’clock in the morning. We had a walk around the track. There are many race car brand-name shops selling their merchandise. Our ticket was a general entry which we can not watch the race from the stands. So we walked around to find a good spot to watch the Formula One and we found a very good spot. We could see the racing car coming very fast and go round two curves.
There were many races on that day. In the morning, there were GP2 and Porche including other activities for example, vintage and new Formula One cars in a parade, the Red Arrows Jet show, music and a lot of other activities.
This race, British racer, Louis Hamilton won the which made the atmosphere very exciting and fun because he won at his home race track.
It was an awesome experience. I really like it a lot!
